ADMISSION OF STUDENTS

 

According with Erasmus Program requirements, the standards for admission, the application procedure and the joint student selection process will be organised on basis of common standards.

  • Students will be admitted into the study programme according with the procedures applied by the partner institutions, based on the advice of the Commission.

  • The Consortium guarantee to admit new students annually. It is envisaged to admit no more than 15-21 students (5-7 students per partner institution) per year of the programme.

  • A Bachelor degree or equivalent from recognized institution of higher education with the minimum mark „good“ in an area of Sport Sciences or related. The Consortium can decide on admission of students with degrees in related subjects. Selection is highly competitive.

  • Practical knowledge of performance analysis is desirable and accreditation of prior experiential learning would be considered.

  • Concerning social security, students enrolled in the master will have to follow the rules in force at the hosting institution and possibly subscribe to a personal insurance.

 

STUDENTS ADMINSITRATION

 

  • Students study according to the rules and regulations of their home university, except for the mobility period. Enrolled students will be assessed according to the assessment system of the home institution. During the mobility period the regulation of the host institution will be applied for the examination of students.

  • The detailed regulations of the examination are described in a separate document “Examination Regulation”.

  • Mutual recognition: The partner institutions formally recognize the modules offered by each partner institution, the grades and credits awarded, which will be included in the student's Transcript of Records. The coordinator defined by the Consortium collects the results from the partners and certifies to the Consortium the outcome of the assessments of each participant.

  • Mobility: Students participating in the Programme must spend the first semester (30 ECTS) at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, and the second semester (30 ECTS) at the Universidade De Trás-Os-Montes E Alto Douro. The students must spend the third semester (30 ECTS) at the Lithuanian Sports University in order to obtain the final degree from the awarding institutions. All students should be aware of these compulsory mobility period.

  • Students in the mobility phase are regarded as regular students of the host university and will be granted normal access to the facilities of the host university.

  • Student’s rights and responsibilities during the mobility period: The students’ rights and responsibilities are the same as those valid for each degree student at the institution where the student is studying at the time. The student must comply with the demands of the institution in question with regard to the documentation required for registration procedures and visa purposes.

  • Students are responsible for covering the costs of participation in the program, travel expenses and costs for room and board. Students can apply for financial subsidies through existing mobility programs.The conditions of study contain general information in order to enable the students to plan their studies. For more detailed information it is recommended to study the examination regulations carefully, to contact the student advisory services, university teachers and other scientific staff. In particular specific advice can be given at Otto-von-Guericke University, Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro University and Lithuanian Sports University.

 

TUITON FEES

 

For administrative purposes, students will be bound to the partner institution, where they enrolled (home university). In their condition as Postgraduate students, they shall be applied all the rules in force for tuition fees by the Consortium. Students will not be charged for the mobility period at the partner institutions.

 

LANGUAGE POLICY

 

Language of instruction will be English. Therefore, every candidate has to show sufficient level in English language. Students whose native language is not English will have to prove their proficiency in English by the TOEFL test with a score of above 550 or IELTS band 6.0 (B2 level) or above. Each University can decide upon acceptance of equivalent test. Additionally, each student will engage with local languages through day-to-day experiences.

 

EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM

 

The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) will be used for grading the results of assessment. The Consortium agrees to mutually recognise each module done at a partner institution, to accept the results of assessment and the grades given, under agreed levels of moderation.
